How should I care for my Lazy Day Lawn Furniture?
Care for your outdoor furniture as you would your outdoor wood deck. Western Red Cedar tolerates moisture but is sensitive to  ultraviolet sunlight. Your lawn furniture will look better and last longer if a protective finish is applied and maintained. Also your lawn furniture should be protected from freezing in winter months to prevent cracking.

What should I do if my furniture becomes "bleached"?
When your chairs become "bleached" or water stops beading it is time to clean them up with a mild soap and recoat them with Australian Outback Timber Oil. It is important that you do not apply this coating too often or in too copious amounts - It will become "tacky". If you do not renew this coating, cedar will turn a silver gray when exposed to the outdoors. Even then a clear coating should be applied to protect the wood.

Why do you use Western Red Cedar in your furniture?

It is a lightweight and dimensionally stable wood that lies flat and stays straight. It resists  cracking and checking. It has 80% the strength of Red Oak. It has a characteristic cedar odor from oils that its cells contain.  This allows it to resist rot and decay. It is soft and light. It is beautiful, with yellow sapwood and pinkish-brown heartwood. Cedar wood is valued for shakes shingles, poles, posts, boat-building, patios, exterior siding and window frames.
